JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for Van Drivers of Non-Emergency Medical Transportation to provide reliable and safe consumer/patient transportation to and from appointments! They will be responsible for driving a company vehicle to various counties to pick up consumers/patients and transport them to medical, treatment, and ancillary appointments. They must be physically able to push a wheelchair, help/assist consumers/patients and strap down securements on the floor of a vehicle. They will be responsible for keeping the company vehicle clean and report an issues. Required to submit proper and timely documentation and provide great customer service. By doing what you do best, you’ll be helping consumers/patients get the care they need.
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, compassionate, on-time service that our consumers/patients can count-on and look forward to
- Safely help consumers/patients in and out of vehicle and transport patients to and from appointments
- Conduct service with empathy at the heart of every interaction; Empathy is one of Healthy Start’s core values
- Communicate in a timely and effective manner with consumer/patients, especially in the case of unforeseen changes
- Keep company vehicle clean, orderly, and in proper working conditions according to company standards
- Maintain current vehicle license and insurance documentation
- Understand and follow applicable Federal and Kansas and Missouri State laws and regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; comply with policies to ensure consumer/patient safety and protect consumer/patient privacy and security
- Maintain patient privacy by complying with HIPPAA policies
Qualifications
- Must be 21+
- High School diploma or equivalent
- CPR Certified or ability to become certified
- A clean driving record
- Ability to follow GPS and use maps accurately
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, in order to interact and connect with a diverse consumer/patient population
- Must possess a high degree of integrity and trust along with the ability to work independently
- Minimum 1-3 years of transportation experience preferred
